The reading will be produced in part by a team of LGBTQIA+ youth interns enrolled in the CENTER BAE program, a collaboration between Broadway for Arts Education and The LGBT Center. 

All proceeds from the reading will support internship programs for LGBTQIA+ youth in New York City. In a world where queerness is still very much under attack by government institutions, this piece was chosen as a vehicle to connect queer stories past, present, and future, and bring together the queer community across generations to continue to speak out and act up for queer lives and queer futures.

The “Center BAE” program provides paid internships for LGBTQIA+ youth, connecting them with theater industry professionals from both on and off the stage. The internship is designed to help marginalized youth develop a toolkit of potentially life-saving self-advocacy skills that they can carry into their personal and professional futures.
